Research Grant The Dutch Science Foundation NWO awarded a VICI grant (1.3 million euro) to the project "Communication and EUrope". 2 post-docs (Andreas Schuck and Joost van Spanje) and 2 PhD candidates (Rachid Azrout and Matthijs Elenbaas) started on this project on September 1 2008 and join the political communication group at ASCoR including Hajo Boomgaarden and Rens Vliegenthart.
In relation to the 2009 European Parliament Elections we participated in a 27 country content analysis of the news media coverage of the elections (www.piredeu.eu) and we conducted more than 50,000 interviews with citizens across Europe to tap the dynamics of the campaign.
